Music

Music

Music is an essential part of worship here at CCUMC! We have many opportunities to participate in our ministries for people of all ages and musical backgrounds.

The Sanctuary Choir sings every Sunday during the year at the 11 AM traditional service. We sing all styles from Renaissance motets to spirituals to large classical works. Singers of every level are always welcome to join. We rehearse every Thursday night in the choir room from 7:00 – 8:30 PM. Contact Tanya for more information.

The Praise Band leads contemporary worship every Sunday during the year at the 9:30 AM family service. We sing contemporary Christian popular music and always welcome new instrumentalists and soloists! Join us for rehearsals on Wednesday nights in the Chapel at 7:30 PM.

Youth Choir is comprised of kids 2nd grade and up, and sings in worship on the third Sunday of every month during the school year. We rehearse in the choir room on Sunday mornings from 9:00 – 9:30 AM.

Our Cherubs Choir is for children in Pre-K through 1st grade and rehearses in the Choir Room every Sunday during the school year from 10:45 – 11:15 AM. Cherubs sing at special services and in concerts and are rehearsed by Kathryn Whitfield. Contact the Director of Music to register your children for choir!

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, our Summer Choir leads 10:00 AM worship in the Sanctuary. The Summer Choir is comprised of instrumentalists and singers who do blended, folk-style worship music together. No week-to-week commitment is necessary to sing with this group – come whenever you can and play or sing!
